EXPRESS Medical Center PC
provides the oncologist with the genetic analysis of a cancer patient's
sensitivity to chemotherapy*, monoclonal antibodies**, and biological
modifiers (alternative/natural substances)***. This provides the oncologist
with a more precise, accurate, and extensive arsenal of agents, resulting in
the most effective therapeutic patient care plan. For stage I to IIIa cancer
patients the material that is needed is only a tissue fragment. The material
that is needed to perform our panel of genetic tests is simply 15-25
milliliters of peripheral (whole) blood for patients with stage IIIb and IV
cancer.
In late stage cancer patients we have found that the metastases are
genetically different from the original tumor. And since these metastases can
cause severe organ damage and eventual failure, it is vital to isolate and
analyze the metastases.
- We isolate the epithelial tumor cells (metastases)
from the whole blood.
- The isolated metastatic cancer cells are then grown in a
culture.
- Next, the cancer cells are exposed to the various anti-cancer agents
(chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and biological modifiers).
- As a result, we are able to conclude which anti-cancer substances are
the most effective in killing the cancer cells.
- Additionally, we provide the oncologist with information regarding
the cancer's genetic expression, its resistance to certain anti-cancer
substances, and also check the bio-availability of the cancer cells.
- The detailed results of our genetic analysis are then sent directly to
the patient's oncologist within a period of 10 days.
This allows the oncologist to rapidly devise a precise and
accurate patient care plan when time is of the essence. Based on our genetic
analysis of the metastases, the average clinical response (remission) of a
patient that followed our indications is above 80%.
